14 Best Girl Scout Cookie Flavors
1. Thin Mints
Hands down, there is no better Girl Scout cookie flavor (or perhaps, better cookie period?) than the Thin Mint. A chocolate cookie that’s then dunked in a mint-chocolate coating for double the chocolatey-ness and also, surprisingly, vegan, Thin Mints are beloved by almost everyone who buys Girl Scouts cookies. While we’ve seen newer versions of this classic cookie that boast a scalloped-edge makeover, it’s the traditional take on the cookie that is a standout favorite.
2. Samoas or Caramel deLites
Depending on where you live, certain Girl Scout cookie flavors have different names. For many of us, we’ve come to know and love this chocolate-y, caramel-coconut haven of a cookie to be called a Samoa. But for others, it’s the more spot-on Caramel deLite. No matter which name you know it by, this cookie is always a good idea (though we still maintain it comes second to the superior Thin Mint). Nevertheless, it’s a delicious cookie and we highly, highly recommend storing a sleeve or two in the freezer. To die for!
3. Do-Si-Dos (Peanut Butter Sandwich)
Another cookie known by two names, the Do-si-Do (or Peanut Butter Sandwich) cookie is a slam-dunk amongst peanut butter lovers. With a crunchy oatmeal cookie shell and fulfilling peanut butter filling on the inside, this cookie is easily in the top three.
4. Trefoils (Shortbread)
Ah, the Trefoils (also known as Shortbread). Indeed a shortbread cookie, there is something so simple yet oddly satisfying about this treat. Plus, it’s a classic Girl Scouts flavor—especially with its iconic symbol.
5. Tagalongs (Peanut Butter Patties)
Whether you call this cookie a Tagalong or a Peanut Butter Patty, this cookie is not to be confused with the similar-looking Thin Mint. (Look for the aerated holes in the Thin Mint or else one bite in you’re bound to get a peanut-buttery surprise!). This cookie is made from crispy cookie layers and peanut butter—topped with a chocolate coating for chocolate peanut butter perfection.
6. Lemonades
If you’ve been around the block, then this one might look new to you. It is! With delicious shortbread (a matching pattern to boot) and a tangy kick of lemon icing, Lemonades debuted in 2020. They may be pretty new to the lineup, but all things considered, they’re pretty good.
7. Lemon-Ups
Though we do think it’s rather strange that GS introduced a second lemon-flavored cookie to its rather small lineup, the Lemon-Ups flavor proves there’s room enough for two lemon cookies. After all, Lemon-Ups are totally different. No icing in sight, Lemon-Ups feature a crispy lemon-flavored bake but that’s not all—each cookie offers an inspiring message guaranteed to lift you up even on the dullest of days.
8. Thanks-A-Lots
Sadly, Girl Scouts put the ka-bosh on Thanks-a-Lots and replaced it with a new flavor only a year later. It may have been short-lived, but hey, it was decent while it lasted! A shortbread-slash-chocolate cookie, the Girl Scout cookie community said fare thee well and “thanks for the memories” to this flavor after the 2020 cookie season.
9. Girl Scouts S’mores
When we think of the Scouts, we definitely think of campfires and roasting s’mores, so it’s no wonder that the Girl Scouts S’mores flavor has become a quintessential flavor in the cookie lineup. Though it’s only been around since 2017, the Girl Scouts themselves have been running the cookie game since 1927—so you know, we trust their judgment wholeheartedly.
10. Toffee-tastic
Though we were skeptical at first when Toffee-Tastic came out in 2014 (we always are; we hold Girl Scouts cookies to high standards after all), this toffee-flavored cookie isn’t just rich and buttery with delicious, ample toffee bites for a bit of crunch—it’s also one of the Girl Scouts’ few gluten-free options.
11. Caramel Chocolate Chip
Perhaps in any other cookie ranking, a somewhat traditional chocolate chip flavor like this one might be placed higher, but with the Girl Scouts, there are so many classic flavors we just can’t overlook. Still, the Caramel Chocolate Chip is a fine cookie. It’s got rich caramel, semisweet chocolate chips, and a subtle hint of sea salt. Plus, this cookie is also gluten-free!
12. Raspberry Rally
New to the Girl Scout cookie lineup in 2023, Raspberry Rally is the first online-exclusive cookie ever and it’s delicious. A hybrid of the brand’s iconic Thin Mints and sweet raspberry flavoring, it’s one of the better recent introductions we’ve tasted in a while—IMHO! Not dissimilar from a chocolate-dipped strawberry (or in this case, raspberry), the Raspberry Rally is really one you can rally behind—especially if you’re a berry lover.
13. Adventurefuls
The Adventureful joined the Girl Scouts cookie lineup recently as well! New as of 2022, the Adventureful is inspired by one of the most beloved desserts of all-time—the brownie. A salted caramel brownie cookie, the Adventureful is a literal mouthful of all your favorite flavors. We’d love to rank it higher but you know, seniority and at all that.
14. Toast-Yay!
Also in 2020, Girl Scouts debuted another new cookie—this one inspired by French toast. To transform this breakfast into cookie form, Girl Scouts took the classic shape of toast, a yummy French toast flavor, and dipped it in rich, sugary icing. It, of course, comes nowhere close to the Thin Mint or Samoa, but it’s on its way to becoming a fast favorite. Next up, are you Team Cool Ranch or Nacho? The best Doritos flavors, ranked!
