In a Jan. 6 Instagram post, she revealed that the official music video for 30’s second single, “Oh My God,” will drop on Wednesday, Jan. 12 at noon ET. She also shared the first 15 seconds of the seductive-looking visual. 30 arrived about a month after Adele shared the project’s title track, “Easy on Me,” and just a few days after she starred in a two-hour concert special, Adele One Night Only, that aired on Sunday, Nov, 14 on CBS and included a sitdown with Oprah Winfrey. A post shared by Adele (@adele) The special filmed in L.A. with mix of both Adele classics and new tracks off of 30. The full setlist included: “Hello” “Easy On Me” “Skyfall” “I Drink Wine” “Someone Like You” “When We Were Young” “Make you Feel My Love” “Hold On” “Rolling In The Deep” “Love Is A Game” Adele’s rollout of her latest tunes started on Oct. 5, when she surprise-announced that “Easy On Me” would arrive on Friday, Oct. 15. (In the U.S., it dropped late on Oct. 14, probably to accommodate her fans abroad.) In her typically cryptic fashion, the 33-year-old singer shared the news via a black-and-white video of herself inserting a cassette tape into a car as she sat in the driver’s seat. “Easy On Me - October 15,” she captioned the 21-second teaser, which features piano instrumentals, but no vocals. A few days after that, Adele shared an even longer snippet of “Easy on Me”—with vocals! The songstress’ most recent album, 25, was released back in November 2015 and became that year’s best-selling LP while also winning the Grammy for Album of the Year. What’s in store for fans with her next release? Here’s everything we know about Adele’s new music in 2021, including her album 30, her latest single “Easy on Me” and why critics and fans think her new album is her best yet.
What is the name of Adele’s new album?
Adele made things Instagram-official when she shared in her Oct. 13 post that the new album would be called 30. But before then, many fans had correctly presumed that her fourth LP would again derive its name from how old she was when she made it. Not only has she named all three of her previous studio releases after numbers (specifically, her age at the time), but also, billboards with the number 30 have recently been popping up in different cities around the world. In 2015, Adele told Beats1 host Zane Lowe (via Billboard) that she actually wasn’t planning to name any more albums after her age, adding, “I think the next one will probably be called Adele. It will be, I’m not joking.” However, she also told Lowe that one reason she felt she was done with age-named albums was that “I feel like not that much is going to change profoundly in me from now on in terms of how important eras of my life are to myself.” That prediction didn’t hold up: In April 2019, Adele announced that she and now-ex-husband Simon Konecki were splitting, and at the time, she was (you guessed it) 30 years old. As one fan recently shared a theory on Twitter, “If the album is called 30… and Adele and her husband called it quits when she was about 31.. then the album would possibly be about everything going wrong that led to their divorce.” In a post celebrating her 31st birthday the month after her separation news, the “Rumour Has It” performer penned, “30 tried me so hard but I’m owning it and trying my hardest to lean in to it all. No matter how long we’re here for life is constant and complicated at times.” She added, “I’ve changed drastically in the last couple years and I’m still changing and that’s okay. 31 is going to be a big ol’ year and I’m going to spend it all on myself. For the first time in a decade I’m ready to feel the world around me and look up for once. Be kind to yourself people we’re only human, go slow, put your phone down and laugh out loud at every opportunity. Learning to REALLY truly love yourself is it, and I’ve only just realized that that is more than enough. I’ll learn to love you lot eventually,” she continued. “Bunch of [f ***ing] savages, 30 will be a drum n bass record to spite you. Chin up eh ❤️.”
When is Adele’s next album coming out?
30 dropped on Friday, Nov. 19—just in time for the holiday shopping season, and exactly one day shy of 25’s sixth anniversary. (That LP was released on Nov. 20, 2015.) Adele, who’s known for playing coy about information like album release dates, revealed during a fan Q&A in early October on Instagram Live that her next LP would be “dropping soon. Don’t you worry.” As British Vogue has noted, Adele was previously caught on tape in 2020 telling guests at her best friend’s wedding, “Expect my album in September!"—but she’s since admitted that she was “wasted” during that blab sesh. She later said in October 2020 while hosting Saturday Night Live, “I know there’s been a lot of chatter about me just being the host. Like, why isn’t she the musical guest and stuff like that. And there’s a couple of reasons: My album’s not finished, and I’m also too scared to do both.” Some Adele fans had already suspected that Nov. 19 would be when the British songstress’ next sure-to-be masterpiece would arrive. Why? Because recently, Taylor Swift decided to move up the release date of her Red (Taylor’s Version) album a week earlier than planned—from Nov. 19 to Nov. 12—which could have been to make way for Adele’s new album. As one Twitter user wrote, “I think TaylorSwift pushed the Red album rerelease up a week because Adele is releasing that week. What other reason would there be? Adele November 19th confirmed.”
Who is featured on Adele’s new album?
Adele previously told British Vogue that there won’t be any collaborators or guest vocalists on the upcoming LP. “It’s not that I don’t want to,” she explained about why the album is just her. “It’s not calculated. It’s just never been right for some reason.” However, the deluxe CD version of 30 (which will be sold exclusively via Target) includes a second, bonus version of “Easy on Me” that’s a duet with country sensation Chris Stapleton. We also know that track No. 8 on 30 is titled “All Night Parking (with Erroll Garner) Interlude.” Garner was a late, great jazz pianist who was perhaps best known for composing the ballad “Misty” that became a megahit for Johnny Mathis in the 1950s.
How many songs will there be on 30?
The Target listing shows 12 tracks on 30, plus three bonus tracks on the deluxe CD version.

What is Adele’s new album about?
“Divorce, baby. Divorce!” That’s what she told her followers her new album will be about during her October 2021 Instagram Live Q&A. In her Instagram post announcing the album’s title and release date, she also called the LP “my ride or die throughout the most turbulent period of my life… my friend who came over with a bottle of wine [to] cheer me up. My wise friend who always gives the best advice… I’ve painstakingly rebuilt my house and my heart [and] this album narrates it.” She similarly told she British Vogue in October 2021, “I feel like this album is self-destruction, then self-reflection and then sort of self-redemption. I feel ready. I really want people to hear my side of the story this time… I made the very conscious decision to be like, for the first time in my life, actually, ‘What do I want?’” She also told the publication, “I love my lyrics on this record,” which apparently contain lines like “I know how low I can go” and “The road less travelled is a road best left behind.” We also know that at least one track features “her voice sampled and resampled over a hypnotic beat” and that her collaborators this time around include one of her 25 producers, Greg Kurstin; pop hitmaker Max Martin, who’s worked on Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys and NSync’s biggest hits; Loneon-based producer Inflo; and Swedish composer Ludwig Göransson, who nabbed a Best Original Score Oscar for work on his Black Panther. Perhaps most tantalizing of all, British Vogue has revealed that the album will end with “a seven-minute opus” of a song that’s “a knockout” and “a string-swirling, [Judy] Garland-invoking, jazzy, campy, swooning delight, packed with world-weary end-of-the-show reflection, and featuring a vocal for the ages.”
What is Adele’s new single “Easy on Me” about?
In British Vogue’s recent Adele profile, the singer told the magazine that she wrote the song for her nearly 9-year-old son, Angelo—who, she says, still has questions about her divorce from ex-husband Simon Konecki, which was finalized in March 2021. “I just felt like I wanted to explain to [Angelo], through this record, when he’s in his twenties or thirties, who I am and why I voluntarily chose to dismantle his entire life in the pursuit of my own happiness,” she said. “It made him really unhappy sometimes. And that’s a real wound for me that I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to heal.”
What are the reviews for Adele’s 30 like?
Adele’s latest collection may be her most heralded yet, with rave reviews across the board. Rolling Stone has raved, “Adele has never sounded more ferocious than she does on 30—more alive to her own feelings, more virtuosic at shaping them into songs in the key of her own damn life. It’s her toughest, most powerful album yet.” Adds UK’s The Telegraph, “Adele Adkins has made what might just be the most potent everywoman album since Carole King’s 1971 classic Tapestry. Or at least since Adele’s own 2011 world-beating classic, 21.” Next, everything we know about why and when Taylor Swift is re-recording her old albums.
