Applying that much makeup would leave the face looking caked-on, so most people are not using that much.” Since you’re likely not using that much SPF-infused makeup, what you’re applying has diluted SPF. “Plus, makeup is not being applied to all the areas that need protection, like the ears, neck, hairline, and around the jaw,” says Dr. Zeichner.
