“I love Van Morrison’s ‘Someone Like You,’" she told her TODAYcohost Jenna Bush Hager. “That is such a beautiful, beautiful song. I think that’ll be our wedding song.” Kotb and Schiffman originally planned to tie the knot last November, but, like for many engaged couples around the world, the ongoing pandemic changed their plans. When asked by Bush Hager when the wedding will take place, the mom of two admitted, “I don’t know.” “We can’t fly anywhere, what are we supposed do?” Kotb explained. “It was supposed to be last November. Maybe this November coming up. That’s it.” Schiffman proposed to Kotb in 2019 during a vacation in Mexico. Following her engagement, the bride to be told PEOPLE, “We may go back to the place we were engaged. We haven’t thought about it too much, but we might do something like that. The place is special to us.” However last October, Kotb revealed to the magazine that a destination wedding might no longer be in the cards. “I don’t know if a destination will be in the cards anymore," she shared. “It’s been postponed and I always wanted kind of a beach wedding.” While Kotb told Bush Hager that she might say, “I do” in the fall of 2021, the This Just Speaks to Me: Words to Live By Every Day author previously admitted to E! that she likes “sunshine and [a] summer feel.” “I’m the happiest when it’s warm and my toes are in the sand,” Kotb admitted. “So, we may just wait until next summer and do it here on the East Coast, or if things get better, which we hope and pray they will, then maybe we’ll strike out and go to some warm, tropical place.” Next, see Hoda Kotb’s sweetest moments with daughter Haley.
