The enormity of the holiday season, added to one’s already hectic daily schedule, can easily become overwhelming. Shopping for all of the needs and wants of Christmas can be downright exhausting, so that morning cup of Joe can be a warm, welcoming little bit of sanity. So, after all of the shopping, wrapping, card-writing, early morning wake-ups, cooking and then traveling too—can you get one of your favorite tall (or venti) cup of that get-up-and-go caffeine selection on Christmas Day? What about Starbucks’ Christmas Eve hours? 

Will Starbucks be open on Christmas 2022?

Starbucks will be open on Christmas Day 2022, depending on the location. Some will be open, some will not, and some may have different than “normal” business hours. This was confirmed when Starbucks Stories & News released a short blurb on November 2 about their upcoming holiday schedule, which states, “This holiday season, Starbucks store hours vary by location and stores may occasionally adjust their hours based on business and customer needs. We recommend customers look for specific store hours using the Starbucks app or by visiting our website store locator: Starbucks.com/store-locator.” But not having any direct answers doesn’t mean that we can’t infer whether or not a location will be open on Christmas Day. After all, there are some locations in larger metros that don’t adhere to the “normal” business hours of their smaller counterparts. Some of the Starbucks that never sleep are located in Las Vegas, Seattle, Los Angeles and Miami. So, one could speculate that if they are always open, then they will most likely be open on Christmas as well. But Starbucks is a franchise-owned chain retailer, and each individual store may operate under their own hours, at their own discretion.  If you find that a store near you often closes earlier on other holidays, or has been closed on Christmas in past, then it would be safe to assume that this year would be no different, and they may close again this year. Unlike more and more retailers who are opting to close on Christmas, some Starbucks locations are choosing to remain open, to serve those who are still working the holiday, as well as those who are braving the stores with some last-minute shopping or traveling to see family and friends.

Will Starbucks be open on Christmas Eve 2022?

Yes, Starbucks will be open on Christmas Eve this year, Saturday, December 24. Some locations may have reduced hours, so definitely check ahead of time before you head out to order some seasonal sips.

Here is an example of the NORMAL business hours for a Starbucks located in Three Rivers, Michigan:

Monday - 4:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. Tuesday - 4:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. Wednesday - 4:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. Thursday - 4:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. Friday - 4:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. Saturday - 6 a.m. - 9 p.m. Sunday - 6 a.m. - 9 p.m.

And these are NORMAL hours for the Starbucks located in the Salt Lake City Airport:

Terminal Ground Level Open daily 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. (Note: Hours may vary due to flight schedules.) Terminal Plaza Open 24 hours a day (Note: Hours may vary due to flight schedules.) Concourse A Open daily 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. (Note: Hours may vary due to flight schedules.) Based on how their regular hours are completely different, that could indicate their holiday hours will also vary.
