“I’ve been lucky enough to travel overseas and perform for our troops for more than 13 tours, my first tour was during the holidays. I got to spend time with all the servicemen and women that didn’t get to go home for the holidays. I couldn’t help but think about all the families who will be missing them over Christmas, that’s what inspired me to write ‘Christmas Without You,’ Hoge shares. “ I wanted a song that expressed the longing of missing your loved one around the holidays and trying to do all the normal things to make it feel like everything is ok.” Hoge is donating 100% of the songs proceeds to The Purple Heart Foundation, a nonprofit that funds programs that benefit Veterans and their families.
