“If you keep going for a whole lot longer, you’re going to go over the cliff, or up over the peak of the mountain and you end up jumping the shark,” Bateman—who’d previously said he didn’t imagine Ozark lasting more than five seasons—told Collider. “So, given the intelligence of Marty Byrde and Wendy Byrde, if they keep going at this pitch for much longer, they’re either going to be killed or put in jail… The alternative is to flatten out that pitch so that you don’t end up jumping the shark, but then you start stalling just for additional episodes and seasons.” (Warning: If you’re not caught up on Ozark, beware: Spoilers ahead!) When is the Ozark Season 4 part two release date?

The first seven episodes of Ozark’s fourth season debuted on January 21, 2022. The final batch of seven episodes will debut on Friday, April 29, 2022.

Is there an Ozark Season 4 trailer?

Season 4 trailers started dropping back in November 2021, but the latest video—shared to YouTube on Feb. 23, 2022—is an announcement date for part two of Season 4. We see Ruth (Garner) driving and crying, experiencing flashbacks of Wyatt (CharlieTahan). “My childhood traumas are not like yours. You see, I’m a cursed Langmore,” Ruth says in a voiceover over scenes of Javi (AlfonsoHerrera) smiling, Navarro (Felix Solis) in jail, the Byrdes screaming, and a gun sitting on the passenger seat. “Long inured to violence and death. And in the case of a Langmore, perhaps not soon enough.” Then, “The end arrives… sooner than you think” flashes up on the screen with the date announcement. If you’re not caught up and haven’t yet watched part one of Season 4, you can watch the trailer for the first batch of episodes below:

How many episodes will be in Ozark Season 4?

The final season features 14 episodes total, split into two seven-episode halves, with part two’s episodes premiering Friday, April 29, 2022. Only seven episodes left to go!

Who’s in the Ozark Season 4 cast?

We’ll be seeing Marty (Bateman) and Wendy (Linney), along with Navarro (Solis), Charlotte (Sofia Hublitz) and Jonah (Skylar Gaertner), Ruth Langmore (Garner), Javi Elizonndro (Herrera), and likely, FBI Agent Miller (Jessica Frances Dukes). It’s also possible that Emery returns as Darlene and Tahan returns as Wyatt though only in Ruth’s visions of them or in flashbacks since both characters are dead.

How did Ozark Season 4 part one end?

The first part of Season 4 ended in true Ozark fashion—lots of unexpected deaths, lots of screaming, and not much relief for the Byrdes at all. In a didn’t-even-see-it-coming move reminiscent of Season 1 when Del was shot with hardly any lead-up, both Darlene Snell (Lisa Emery) and Wyatt Langmore (Tahan) were executed by the cartel. Of course, it wasn’t clear at first that it was a cartel hit. At least not to Ruth, who had previously called a hit out on Darlene. “Why’d you do it? Why’d you kill Wyatt, too?” she asked Frank Cosgrove Jr. (JosephSikora), who she had hired to kill Darlene. Once it comes to light that the cartel—now helmed by Javi—was to blame, Ruth promises to bring justice to the person who killed Wyatt. Speaking of Javi taking over the cartel, there’s a lot there to unpack, too. Navarro wanted out of the cartel life and agreed to make a deal with the FBI—a la the facilitation of the Byrdes. But it was no easy feat. The three met with the FBI and instead of accepting Navarro’s resignation and accepting Javi as the new boss, the FBI wanted to make a new deal: Navarro would remain head of the cartel for the next five years, working alongside them as an informant. This was not ideal for Navarro, who already provided valuable intel to the FBI that led to them catching Javi and slowed down the Navarro cartel. The Byrdes and even Agent Miller (who they worked with) were shocked, too; the FBI wasn’t interested in taking down the cartel once and for all? To everyone’s shock, FBI Agent Clay pulled rank on Agent Miller, but clearly they were still at odds over the way things went down. Without any options, Navarro accepted the deal. But things weren’t quite finished yet. On his way out, Agent Miller directly violated her superiors and arrested Navarro for his cartel crimes. With Navarro in jail, Marty and Wendy switched gears and plead with Javi to accept the same deal Navarro did. Javi, of course, didn’t have much interest in working with the FBI and told the Byrdes he can’t wait for the opportunity to kill them. But there was one saving grace left and that was Wendy Byrde’s rapport with Navarro. She visited the former drug lord in jail and convinced him to convince Javi to take the deal. Cut to the Snell farm with Darlene, Wyatt, and Baby Zeke all inside. Javi enters the house and without much explanation at all, shoots both Darlene and Wyatt in the head, leaving Zeke crying in his crib.

How did Ozark Season 3 end?

Well, we’ll give you the highlight reel: Wendy had to call a hit on her own brother and the Navarro cartel also took out Helen. “As good as Helen is, there’s other lawyers in the world,” executive producer and showrunner Chris Mundy told Entertainment Weekly. Mundy added, “But Wendy and Marty have now pulled off two impossibilities for him. One is getting a casino to launder through in the first place, which is sort of the holy grail of money laundering. And the second is that, at least in Navarro’s mind, their claim that they have the FBI on their side and can swing the power of the U.S. government in the intervention in the drug war against their rivals, that’s something virtually no one else can do, and that essentially tipped the scales for Marty and Wendy.”

Who died in Ozark Season 4 part one?

During the first part of Season 4, the most emotionally devastating death is undoubtedly Wyatt. Darlene was also murdered—alongside Wyatt—at the hands of Javi. Other characters who died this season included Sheriff John Nix (killed by Javi), Kerry Stone’s driver, and Frank Cosgrove Sr. Let’s also not forget how close Kerry Stone was to meeting his maker. After accidentally overdosing on heroin at the casino, Ruth saved his life with Narcan. Season 3 of Ozark saw significantly fewer casualties but they definitely hit home: Ben Davis—Wendy’s brother—was a devastating but, to the Byrdes, seemingly necessary loss. And in a shock to us all, Helen Pierce—Navarro’s fearless lawyer—was shot dead in the finale’s final seconds. Season 2 saw the demise of Roy Petty, Cade Langmore, Pastor Mason Young, Buddy Diker, and Jacob Snell. And in Season 1 saw the end of uncles Ross and Boyd Langmore, Camino “Del” Rio—the original Navarro cartel bad guy.

Did Ben Davis die in Ozark Season 3?

This one is still hard to swallow and if we know Wendy Byrde, she will still be dealing emotionally with the impact and repercussions of her brother’s death in Season 4. After all, Wendy called the hit on her brother. From the lead-up to meeting Ben, the show always hinted that Ben struggled mentally. After brief mentions of him in other seasons, we finally met Ben in Season 3. His mental health struggles became apparent immediately. Ultimately, Ben’s bipolar diagnosis kept him from reacting to the truth of the Byrde family business in a coherent and stable way (or, a way that would keep him from getting killed). When Ben time and time again proved he could not be trusted with such damning information, Wendy had to make the decision. She contacted the Navarro cartel and had Ben taken out while she sobbed in the car.

Did Helen Pierce die in Ozark Season 3?

Helen’s death was another quick hit reminiscent of Del’s murder in Season 1. In the final scene of Season 3, Helen, Marty and Wendy pull up to the home of drug lord Omar Navarro, exit the car, and Helen is immediately shot. Before the final scene fades to black, we see Marty and Wendy’s faces (and bodies) covered in Helen’s blood as they look on, shocked.

What will happen in Ozark Season 4 and are there any spoilers?

Before Ozark got the greenlight for Season 4, Mundy explained that if given a fourth season, he expected Ruth to be front and center. And so far, she has been! In fact, many viewers are calling for Garner to win another Emmy (she already has two for her performance as Ruth). “If we’re lucky enough to get a Season 4, I think it will be about whether or not Ruth really can create something of her own that she wants and is sustainable, or if she wants something else,” Mundy explained to Entertainment Weekly. “And I think it will be about if the Byrdes can turn the biggest mistake of their lives into this huge advantage, and how much will karma catch up with them if they do.” For part two of Season 4, the cartel has now killed the last person Ruth actually loved—Wyatt—and it’s all been leading up to this. Personally, Ruth has dealt with a lot of tragedy, most of which has been intertwined with the cartel’s opposing interests. After all, the cartel murdered Ben Davis (her boyfriend) and her father, Cade. “We pick up right away,” showrunner Chris Mundy told TV Line about part two. “We would be cheating everybody if we jumped past the emotional place we were in [at the end of Episode 7].” Our prediction for part two of Season 4? Ruth has had enough! As she screamed at the Byrdes in the final seconds of the part one finale: “If you wanna stop me, you’re gonna have to f***in’ kill me!”
